(1868-1961)
Politician, businessman, member of the House of Representatives
Born in Tokuwa, Sado City, graduated from Waseda University.
He was a member of the House of Representatives of the Rikken Minto Party.
He also served as a member of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly and the Sado County Assembly, and acted as a council member in various fields.
In the business world, he served as managing director of Futabasha, auditor of Niigata Savings Bank, director of Sado Kisen, and director of Sado Hydroelectric Power.
In addition, in anticipation of the coming of the railway age, he worked hard to improve the Sado route, with Ryotsu Port as the gateway.
The small island the statue is looking at is shaped like Sado.
